Sasha Harris-Lovett, AmeriCorps Member and Garden Teacher, is a Berkeley native and a graduate of King Middle School. As a student at King, she participated in sowing the first Edible Schoolyard cover crop and has come full circle – returning as a garden teacher in the fall of 2009. After graduating from Harvard University, Ms. Harris-Lovett received a Henry Russell Shaw Fellowship to work on organic farms in Spain and write children's stories about food and food production. She began her work as an educator and farmer locally at Hidden Villa in Los Altos, California, and since then has worked with youth on both US coasts and on farms on four continents.
In addition to growing and eating delicious food, Sasha loves to read, play musical instruments, hunt mushrooms and teach young people how to milk cows.
