Classroom Volunteers

Volunteers must be certified to work with public school children before beginning their commitment. Before contacting us, please attend an orientation at Berkeley School Volunteers to become certified. They will provide us with your certification and availability. Most volunteers spend an hour and a half each week working alongside students in either the kitchen or garden. We ask that all volunteers commit to working with our classes for at least one semester. We regret that we are unable to engage short-term volunteers.
New volunteers must attend an Edible Schoolyard classroom volunteer orientation before participating in a garden or kitchen class.
